What is 1Health?
1Health Program In 2006, the deans of the six health professions schools that comprise the Academic Health Center created a leadership statement committing to interprofessional education. As a result, the deans created the Center for Interprofessional Education, housed in the AHC Office of Education. Today, we are operationalizing 1Health, a vision for interprofessional education in which all AHC students entering into professional schools at the AHC must demonstrate competency during three phases (Phase I: Orientation; Phase II: Building the Toolbox; and Phase III: Authentic Experiences) of their pre-professional development in the following areas by participating in interprofessional experiences and meeting defined competencies: Professionalism/Ethics, Communication, and Teamwork.
