Interprofessional activities

Southern Minnesota AHEC supports three interprofessional community health projects in the region funded by Minnesota Education Research Costs (MERC).  These MERC projects build interprofessional education teams of health professionals, health professions students, and community members to address a community-identified health issue.  MERC community projects currently exist in Willmar - Cultural Competency, New Ulm - Obesity, and Montevideo - Prenatal Care.

Health professionals can also take part in interprofessional workshops offered by Minnesota AHEC covering such topices as obeisty and battling methamphetamine abuse.

Continuing Education

Make use of Medical Equipment, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) trainers, CPR mannequins, an IV arm trainer, and an electronic simulation mannequin, available for use in training health professions staff and students. Also see our K-12 Teachers Resources.
