Loan Repayment and Scholarship Information

The National Health Service Corp (NHSC) has a number of exciting opportunities available for health professions students, including a competitive NHCS Scholarship program designed for students committed to providing primary health care in communities of greatest need. Students who have completed their education and training may be interested in the NHSC Loan Repayment Program (LRP). This program gives fully trained health professionals who are dedicated to serving the underserved and have qualifying educational loans the opportunity to compete for repayment of those loans if they choose to serve in a community of greatest need.

Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health and Primary Care offers several loan forgiveness (repayment) programs to primary care physician residents, dental students and students in RN, LPN, NP, PA, CNM, nurse anesthetist and advanced clinical nurse educational programs.

The Academic Health Center Office of Education has news on grant fellowship and scholarship opportunities.

Minnesota Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Health Professions cooperative agreement # 1U76-HP00599-01 funded through Title VII of the Public Health Service Act.
