Introduction to Promotion and Tenure

This site specifies policies and procedures concerning:

- review of probationary faculty for continuation in rank.

- conferral of tenure and promotion in rank.

- termination of appointment.

- review of tenured faculty for promotion in rank.

For instructions for this year's process, please refer to the Instruction Memorandum prepared by the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost and the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences.  In an effort to assist faculty, departments, and colleges, the Academic Health Center has prepared the Promotion, Tenure, Reappointment, and Non-reappointment Timetable which gives a timeline for the entire process.
