Summary of Nomination Requirements


Nominations from all AHC schools/colleges are encouraged.

Nominee: All full-and part-time faculty members, clinical track faculty, professional academic instructors, community-based faculty members, preceptors or teams of faculty.

Nominator: Must be a current member of the faculty or faculty emeritus. Self-nominations are not permitted. Nominators are responsible for submitting the completed nomination packet that includes the letter of nomination, both external and internal letters of support, the nominee's CV and portfolio. Criteria:
Criteria that will be used to review contributions include: the person's work as it impacts programs or the professional growth of learners, the person's leadership within a program and/or the AHC, the quality of educational contributions, interprofessional collaboration, documented recognition, and/or impact of the educational program extending not only across the AHC but throughout Minnesota, and nationally.

Contributions: Nominees will be evaluated based upon their direct and/or indirect contributions in at least two, but not necessarily all, of the areas described below:

Direct Student Instruction: Educational activities documented through applied research activities including, but not limited to, classroom teaching, clinical teaching, community-based education, advisement, mentoring, curriculum and program development, special student projects, and/or service learning.

Research and Scholarly Activities related to Teaching and Learning: Creative contributions made in education as documented through peer-reviewed activities such as funded research, publications, education journal review, involvement in national workshops, invited lectureships, and presentations at scholarly meetings.

Public Service and Outreach: Teaching and presentations in continuing education; public service and outreach to practitioners, faculty, and the public; and/or development of programs connecting the University to communities throughout Minnesota; and/or strategies to enhance access to health sciences education throughout Minnesota.

Academic Leadership in AHC Programs: Service on committees and/or holding positions that provide guidance and direction to education in AHC programs; leadership in evidence-based curriculum innovation, and/or collaboration on the development of interprofessional education across AHC programs.

Letter from Nominator
This letter should summarize the nominee(s)' accomplishments in the areas of instruction, scholarship, outreach, and/or academic leadership, as well as the impact on AHC learners and educational programs. It should describe the impact that the nominee has had on AHC programs, including the nominee's most prestigious accomplishments with supportive evidence. This letter should not exceed three pages.
