Leading Change: A Call for Engagement

A Call for Engagement
Robert H. Bruininks, PhD, President, University of Minnesota

President Bruininks discussed the University of Minnesota’s role in the state, noting the University is one of Minnesota’s most important assets and serves as a magnet for students, businesses, and cultural life, that it has a very high return on investment, and that it is increasingly well managed.  He also addressed the unparalleled choices and opportunities for students. He pointed out the University prepares two-thirds of Minnesota’s advanced health care professionals.

President Bruininks discussed the University of Minnesota’s efforts to deepen outreach to communities, especially in greater Minnesota, as well as the University’s strategic planning process, which aims to position the University of Minnesota as one of the top three public research universities in the world.
