Health Careers Exploration for Students

We’re here to help. - At "Career Day" events sponsored by local school districts and colleges, students participate in interactive presentations on health careers.
- Job shadowing opportunities exist for high school and college students participate in observing the work of a variety of health professionals.
- Health Occupation Students of America (H.O.S.A.) - H.O.S.A. is a national student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. H.O.S.A. is for 9th-12th grade students.
- University on the Prairie is an intensive hands-on educational experience in four science-based areas important to the life and industries of Southern Minnesota: health care, food science, environmental science and engineering. Sixty students in grades 8-10 with high aptitude and/or academic achievement from school districts in Southwest Minnesota will be selected from the applicants to participate in the program.
The 2010 program will be held August 3-5 at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center in Lamberton, MN. A brochure and application materials are available here.
