Health Professionals

We support community-based health professionals with continuing education opportunities, resources, and connections to health professions students.

Working with students

Access to health professions students is one of the greatest resources available to community-based health professionals. Students are eager to learn from community-based health professionals and come away with a greater understanding of what it means to practice in an urban or rural community. The Minnesota AHEC Program Office can help you identify your capabilities and put you in touch with the experiential education coordinators who can help place a student in your community.

Working interprofessionally

Minnesota AHEC supports interprofessional education sites statewide, giving community-based health professionals and health professions students opportunities to implement interprofessional educational practices.

The Center for Interprofessional Education (CIPE) is partner of Minnesota AHEC. CIPE is a University of Minnesota program that promotes interprofessional educational opportunities that advance teamwork and result in improved health care.

Preceptor development

Minnesota AHEC, along with the University of Minnesota, will help you access the resources and training necessary to lead successful clinical rotations and community service projects by health profession students in your community.

Access to training and continuing education opportunities

Minnesota AHEC can help identify, provide, and develop continuing education opportunities for community-based health professionals. We are committed to helping you access up-to-date, evidence-based information through professional meetings, conferences, and locally designed trainings.
