Interdisciplinary Programs at the U of M

Center for Bioethics - University of Minnesota [interdisciplinaryspecialprograms]
Joint Degree Program
The Joint Degree Program is the first to help students combine a Law degree with a MD, MPH, PhD or MS in a variety of disciplines.

Combined MD/PhD Training Program
The School of Medicine has a long tradition of dual degree programs in medical science. The first such program began in the 1920s and was formally designated as the Combined MD/PhD training program in 1958. This program is one of 33 national programs funded by a Medical Scientist Training Program grant from the National Institutes of Health.

MA/MS & PhD in History of Science, Technology, and Medicine (HSTM)
(New! Fall 2007)
The History of Science, Technology, and Medicine is a dynamic, interdisciplinary field that studies these areas in their broad cultural context. For over twenty-five years, the graduate programs in History of Medicine and the History of Science and Technology at the University of Minnesota have consistently ranked among the country's best. These two programs have now merged into a new program in the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine, which will start admitting graduate students for the fall of 2007.
