All courses must be accurately entered in ECS by the above date. All questions about ECS course entry should be addressed to the Office of Classroom Management at ocmsched@umn.edu
If the course requires ITV, send an email to ahcrooms@umn.edu with the following list before the date above. If this is not done, you ITV course cannot be scheduled.
- Local site contact person and phone number
- Distance site contact person and phone number (for each site)
- Site from which presentation will originate
If you wish to request a specific room, send an email to ahcrooms@umn.edu by the above date. ECS may be used to indicate general classroom preferences (required technology, seating arrangements, etc.) but is not able to indicate specific AHC rooms.
Why this date? We use a deadline well in advance of the beginning of the term because of the complicated nature of AHC curriculum and the large demand for extra-curricular use of AHC classroom space.
What if I miss this date? If this deadline is missed, other curriculum will be placed thus limiting the room options for your course. If no room is available you may have to teach in non-AHC space or in multiple spaces.
Courses are placed in space and technology appropriate classrooms according to the following protocol approved by the AHC’s Deans in 2003.
Room assignments are not finalized until the date below, even though they may be visible in ECS and the OneStop Course Schedule as they are made.
Changes after this date affect not only your course, but can create a domino effect of scheduling changes.
After this date, the AHC begins scheduling event requests, this further limits the availability of rooms increasing the odds that you will have to teach in non-AHC space or in multiple spaces.
Schedulers may be asked to consent to a change in room assignment to accommodate another course, but these requests will be made in writing and the change will not be made without departmental consent.
