Mediasite
Mediasite
Mediasite is an automated lecture capture-and-stream device that is currently being implemented by AHC Classroom Services as a pilot program. Because this program is still developing, we welcome your feedback at swogg001@umn.edu.
- If you are having difficulties playing content back during regular support hours (7:30am-3:30pm M-F) contact the Classroom Hotline 612-626-5100 option 1.
- Jacob Swogger is the Mediasite Coordinator. General questions and non-emergency issues can be addressed to him at 612-625-1292 or swogg001@umn.edu

What rooms have Mediasite capabilities?
- Courses and events scheduled in Moos Tower 2-530, 2-620, 2-650, 2-690 and PWB 2-470 have the ability to be digitally captured by Mediasite software for live web-streaming or on-demand review.
How do I schedule Mediasite?
- Request for Mediasite services should be included at the time the room request is made and must be made no later than one week in advance to allow for processing of the recording schedules which are made separate from the room scheduling.
Requests for courses with Mediasite can be made the same way that requests for ITV are made.
Requests for Events can be made the same way as other distance technologies (DT) are requested.
- At this time, request for this service can only be initiated by departmental faculty or staff.
- The AHC CS Mediasite coordinator will contact the requestor to get specific information on access and to schedule orientation.
- Orientation materials will include understanding of release forms. There are two forms:
- Requestor consent form: Must be signed by the Faculty and/or staff requesting Mediasite to verify that they are responsible for communicating the presenter release form and maintaining a record.
- Presenter release form: Must be signed by every presenter and communicates the policies affecting Mediasite.
- Once release agreements have been read and acknowledged, AHC CS will set up access to requested material.
- Mediasite coordinator will email information to department contact including release responsibilities, the Mediasite URL, username and password. Faculty or staff may use any method to distribute this information to eligible students.
- Content may be stored on the server for up to one year but earlier removal dates can be requested by faculty/staff.
