Robert J. Schumacher, Ph.D., Scientific Director

Dr. Robert SchumacherRobert J. Schumacher, Ph.D. is the Scientific Director for the Center for Translational Medicine. Prior to joining the Center for Translational Medicine, Dr. Schumacher directed preclinical and clinical studies in a wide array of therapeutic areas, including CNS, oncology, analgesia, and infectious diseases. His drug development experience ranges from candidate evaluation and selection, through preclinical studies and IND development, to clinical development and the filing of marketing applications. He has also developed regulatory strategies to support drug development programs and has worked directly and effectively with the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
