It is both an independent nonprofit association, governed by a volunteer board of directors, and it is the U of M's department of alumni relations. College of Liberal Arts (CLA)

CLA offers almost 70 undergraduate majors: 58 through CLA departments, as well as 11 majors through departments in other colleges and schools at the University. Most CLA majors are also offered as minors. CLA also offers several freestanding minors (minors that do not have corresponding majors).
