About Health Talk

Health Talk & You is a community outreach initiative of the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center. Many people are familiar with the Health Talk & You television program, which was broadcast on Twin Cities Public Television for 16 seasons. The program ended in 2004, but our commitment to informing Minnesotans with the latest health information continues.

Health Talk & You columns, written by University of Minnesota faculty members, are published twice a month on our Web site and are also mailed to 70 newspapers in Minnesota. We also publish a twice-monthly Q & A on a health topic, which coincides with the Ask the Doctor segment of the KARE-11 Today Show.

The Health Talk & You Web site provides general information on health-related topics. The information is for general health education purposes only and is not intended to provide medical advice. Specific advice on diagnosing or treating a heath care problem should be obtained from a health care provider. For a list of medical specialties at the University of Minnesota, go to www.umphysicians.umn.edu or call 612-672-7422.
