Marci Bowers, M.D., "One-Stage Genital Reassignment Surgery: surgical options for males-to-females and females-to-males"
Bowers will highlight her work in the field of transgender medicine, offering analysis and information for medical providers and the community. Bowers is a gynecologic surgeon currently performing gender-related surgeries in Trinidad, Colorado, “The Sex Change Capitol of the World.” A 1986 graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School where she was class and student body president, Bowers has appeared in numerous documentaries and television shows, and has written articles focusing on the field of transgender surgery.
Loren Schechter, M.D., "Gender Confirmation Surgery and Revision Vaginoplasty"
Schechter will discuss gender confirmation surgery (both single- and two-stage vaginoplasty) as well as revision vaginoplasty. This will include penile inversion, intestinal transposition, the use of skin grafts, pre-and post-operative care, as well as adjunct procedures. Schechter's clinical experience includes both gender confirmation and complex vaginal reconstruction. Additional clinical interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast and face, as well as cosmetic body contouring such as abdominoplasty and liposuction, and complex microsurgical reconstruction.
