About the Competition
Interprofessional Team Case Competition: A Systems-Based Practice
- Registration deadline January 24, 2009, for the Local and National Competitions
- Registrations accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis
- The registration fee is $2,000 per national team (does not include the University of Minnesota participants)

Case Details
The case will include elements from all professions listed above.
Topic: A profile of a patient's health care leading to a sentinel event
Content: The case is written by U of M faculty at the Academic Health Center
Presentation: Teams will have 20 minutes to present their case.

ALL registered U of M Twin Cities and Duluth students MUST attend.
Where: CHIP Lounge, East Bank of University of Minnesota, 1-425 Moos Tower, 515 Delaware St. SE, Minneapolis, MN

7:45 am – Judge briefing
8:30am – Team A presentation
9:15 am – Team B presentation
10:00 am – Team C presentation
10:45 am – Team D presentation
11:30 am – Team E presentation
12:15 pm – Lunch break
1:00 pm – Team F presentation
1:45 pm – Team G presentation
2:30 pm – Team H presentation
3:15 pm – Team I presentation
4:00 pm – Results tallied
Each team is given 20 minutes to present and 10 minutes for questions from the judges. The judges will be given roughly 5 minutes to discuss each presentation before the next group begins.

Teams conduct a root cause analysis and present their recommendations for system changes to a panel of interprofessional judges.
