Learning Objectives This educational module is designed for AHC health professionals-in-training involved in educational rotations who must learn how to prevent and respond to bloodborne pathogens and tuberculosis exposures.
After completing this module, you should be able to:
- describe the health insurance coverage required to cover emergency medical situations. - follow the requirements for immunizations and vaccinations. - identify the risks of bloodborne pathogen exposures for health care workers. - describe measures to take during educational experiences to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens. - describe the risks of tuberculosis exposure for health care workers. - describe the fit-tested mask requirements for students who rotate through areas at high risk for tuberculosis. - describe the AHC response protocol for exposure to bloodborne pathogens during educational experiences.
