Research Opportunities, Health Careers Center at the University of Minnesota

If you are thinking about pursuing a health professional career in the research arena, below are some opportunities for you to get involved and engaged in the field of research.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
This program offers financial awards twice a year to full-time undergraduates for research, scholarly, or creative projects undertaken in partnership with a faculty member. It encourages students to conduct research and pursue academic interests outside of their regular courses by employing them to work on special research projects.

Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Research Program (LSSURP)
A group of multidisciplinary programs attracting more than 200 students from undergraduate schools nationwide. Held during the summer months, students participate in a ten-week intensive research project under the direction of a University of Minnesota faculty mentor.

Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program
The McNair Scholars Program includes a nine-week summer research apprenticeship program for 24 qualifying undergraduates whose applications are accepted.

University Honors Program (UHP) Research
Students in the University Honors Program participate in research, under the guidance of world-reknowned faculty.
