Spot the Badge Campaign
Wearing your employee identification badge does more than fulfill regulations. When you wear your badge, you let everyone know you belong here. It quickly identifies you to patients and visitors who may need assistance in finding their way around. And when everyone wears his or her badge, it becomes easier to spot potential security concerns.

For the next few weeks, wearing your employee identification badge is also your chance to win. Beginning October 24th through November 18th, official badge spotters will be on the lookout for badge-wearing AHC, Boynton, and Duluth Health Services employees on the Twin Cities and Duluth campuses. If you get spotted, your photo and name will be entered into a weekly prize drawing*.
Five winners will be announced and notified on Friday of each week – four winners will receive a $5 gift certificate to the University of Minnesota Bookstore or Starbucks, and one lucky person will win their choice of the following prizes:
Twin Cities Campus Prizes
- One year membership for two to the Weisman Art Museum
- $45 University of Minnesota Bookstore gift certificate
- 2 tickets to a Great Conversations lecture
- $45 Northrup Auditorium gift certificate
- Two tickets to any one Gopher Men’s or Women’s Basketball game
Duluth Campus Prizes
- 4 tickets to a UMD Men’s Hockey game
- $45 Grandma’s Saloon & Grill gift certificate
- 2 tickets to Holiday Brunch at Glensheen Mansion
- 2 tickets for two snow kiting sessions across Island Lake
You may also enter to win by sending a digital photo of yourself wearing your ID badge to privacy@umn.edu. Only one entry per week will be counted.
*Spotted badge wearers are eligible for prizes only in the week they are spotted.
