Temporary Card SOP's

  1. Temporary cards are provided in all RAR animal rooms. It is a two-part card: part 1 is placed on the cage and part 2 is submitted to the RAR business office.
  2. Used by RAR staff and PI staff to create a new bar-coded cage card(s). For example: Animals in one cage are fighting and need to be separated.
  3. When part 2 of the temporary card is presented to the RAR business office, new card/cards will be created and returned to the supervisor or animal care tech, along with the original temporary activation card.
  4. The supervisor or animal care tech replaces the temporary card on the cage (part 1) with the new, bar-coded card, and discards both original temporary cards. These original temporary cards should be destroyed. Do not place them in the out boxes.
