- What should I do if my animals appear ill?
Call 4-9100 for emergency care. If it is after hours, the pager number of the on-duty veterinarian will be on the answering machine. This emergency veterinary pager number can also be found listed by the phone in any housing area. http://www.ahc.umn.edu/rar/vetservices.html#Emergency
- How can I contact a RAR supervisor on a weekend or holiday?
The Minneapolis campus weekend supervisor pager number is 612-527-3853 and for St. Paul it is 612-369-7335 or -7343 - if one isn't answered, please try the other
- How can I obtain training in specific animal
procedures?
Call 612-624-9100 for assistance.
- What do summer students and short duration visitors have to do to get access to RAR facilities and permission to work with animals?

- How can I get access to my animals in quarantine?
Contact the area supervisor/veterinarian to arrange an escort to the room.
- What procedures can I do with my mice in quarantine?
You can set up matings, breed mice, ear clip or ear tag, bleed for genotyping.
RAR staff will provide weaning services.
- How do I get animals transferred from one of
my protocols to a different one (or to another investigator)?

- Who should I ask about animal transport traffic
patterns and how to find non-public ways to get from the animal area to

Contact the RAR area supervisor or veterinarian for the area where the
animals are housed or call 4-9100 and they will direct your call.
- What if I see suspicious behavior?
In the event of an emergency, you should always call 911
