New Scholars Program in Aging 2006

Sponsor: The Ellison Medical Foundation

Award: New Scholar Award in Aging for 2006

Amount/Duration: Up to $50,000 annually for four years

Number of Projects Awarded: Ten

Deadline: March 2, 2006

Description: Support to new investigators of outstanding promise in the basic biological sciences relevant to understanding aging processes and age-related diseases and disabilities. Eligibility: Nominees must hold full time appointments and must not have been in such appointment at the sponsoring institution or other institution(s) for more than three years as of July 15, 2005.

Nomination Process: The University may nominate one candidate. Nominations (by other faculty members) or preliminary proposals by new scholars themselves should be 1-2 pages in length and describe why the nominee deserves the award and what research will be performed during the award period. A curriculum vitae should also be included. If there are multiple applicants/nominations, a committee of faculty members will select the finalist to represent the University.
