Research Assistant, School of Public Health and
LifeQuest Project
This person will assist with research
applications under the direction of faculty
researchers in the School of Public Health.
LifeQuest is an innovative inquiry-based
curriculum that seeks to unlock the secrets of
longevity.
Position: Research Assistant -- 50% time, Fall
Semester 2004, Spring Semester 2005, with
possible continuation.
Duties: Assist the LifeQuest educational project
by working under the supervision of faculty
researchers in the School of Public Health.
Assist in creating Healthspan Calculator, an
online tool for entering data about lifestyle and
environment to calculate number of healthy years
of life; assist in creating and administering a
survey for ranking the top 100 life longevity
recommendations; assist in the implementation of
Health Tracker, a tool to address findings
related to obesity- related behaviors through a
program including middle school students and
parents.
Qualifications: M.P.H., M.S. or Ph.D.
candidate in School of Public Health with a
strong research and communications skills. Must
have well-rounded understanding of public health
including computer skills, writing skills, and a
strong background in statistics. Desired
qualifications include knowledge of techniques
to estimate and review all-cause mortality and
familiarity with life tables.
Pay Rate: $13.85 (with bachelor’s degree)
$18.46 (with master’s degree)
