Program Description:
CDC ADAPT Project, focusing on HIV prevention in 
the African American Men Who Have Sex With Men 
population. 

Duties:
To implement and manage project activities, 
including managing the budget, approving 
expenses and handling subject payments. Assist 
with recruitment of interviewers. Train and 
supervise activities of interviewers. Oversee 
data gathering, data entry and data management 
activities. Work closely with adaptation 
specialist, data manager, investigators, and 
others involved in study. Coordinate and conduct 
focus groups and stakeholder interviews in 
collaboration with Adaptation Specialist. Assist 
with development of informational materials and 
subject recruitment materials. Develop IRB 
forms, Certificate of Confidentiality, reports. 

Qualifications:
Registered graduate student in field of Public 
Health, Epidemiology, Psychology, Social Work, 
Sociology, Family Studies or closely related 
field. Prefer advanced graduate student. 
Experience with community/clinical research, 
with research interviews and project 
coordination. Experience with/knowledge of 
subject population, African American men who 
have sex with men, and/or gay and African 
American cultures. Experience with SPSS. Prefer 
experience with development of human subjects 
and related forms, report writing.
