The course Fundamentals of Clinical Research
(PubH 6301) expects to enroll approximately 30
students for fall semester 2007. We are seeking
a teaching assistant at 25%.
The instructors for the course are Russell
Luepker and Alan Hirsch. The course meets every
Thursday from 10:10 - 1:10.
Short Description of Course
This course is a core requirement for Clinical
Research MS students. This course is intended
to provide a foundation for the more advanced
study that is necessary to become an
accomplished clinical research investigator.
This course will review the concepts that
underlie successful clinical research design,
implementation, and reporting. This course will
also expose students to the resources and
opportunities available to support clinical
research at the academic health center.
Class attendance for the TA is mandatory,
Job Description
1) Working with the instructors to update the
syllabus and required course readings;
2) coordinating the course schedule and inviting
guest speakers;
3) posting course materials on VISTA (WebCT);
4) if qualified, assisting the instructors in
grading assignments and exams;
5) and, if qualified, assisting students with
their questions and needs.
Minimal Qualifications
Graduate student with some knowledge of the AHC
programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the clinical research field,
successfully completed the PubH 6301 course and
other advanced courses in public health and/or
clinical research.
Course Date/Time: Thursdays (10:10am - 1:10pm)
Start Date: August 15th, 2007 or as soon as
possible
Rate, Percent Position, Duration of Position:
Rate of pay will be based on degree status. The
primary location of the position is in the West
Bank Office Building.
