This position will be working on a NIDRR funded
SNBC Care Coordination Project--a research project
designed to identify the critical elements of
health care coordination and their impact on a
number of outcomes including access to services,
quality of services, psychological wellness, and
costs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting literature reviews including securing
articles and drafting text for article summaries
and manuscripts. Conduct a nationwide
environmental scan on care coordination and draft
a report summarizing what was learned.
Contributing to the development and validation of
PPDM and care coordination surveys. Recruiting
participants to take part in
stakeholder/participatory planning and decision
making (PPDM) groups. Assisting with the
conduction of PPDM group meetings and
interpretation of PPDM data. Assisting with the
collection and analysis of data from interviews as
well as internet-based, mail and phone surveys
with health care consumers, care coordinators and
supervisory staff from participating provider
organizations. Soliciting data from health care,
managed care and service delivery organizations.
Entering data into databases and follow up with
study participants to obtain needed data.
Preparing text for reports of project findings
including collaborating on the development of
reports, journal articles, conference papers and
other publications as needed. Other duties as
assigned depending on GRA skills and interest.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current graduate student registered for coursework
in Public Health, Psychology, Statistics,
Bio-Statistics, the College of Education and Human
Development, or related field at the University of
Minnesota. Intermediate Skills using Word and
Excel or another spreadsheet program. Effective
verbal and written communication skills. Ability
to work well as a member of team. Ability and
willingness to learn new computer software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. Student, BA/B.S. or advanced degree in
health or human service related field. Experience
with internet based survey research.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Estimated start date for this Fall and Spring
semester appointment is 12/01/08, please note:
position offers no tuition benefits for Fall 2008
semester unless combined with another graduate
assistant appointment. Starting hourly rate is
$16.75
