This appointment is for Fall semester 2009 
through Spring semester 2010 with the possibility 
of renewal through June 2010, depending on 
funding, academic progress and performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered for coursework in a U of Minnesota 
graduate or professional degree program during 
the academic year.

High school diploma and four years experience 
with significant general public contact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in research, patient interviewing, and 
or interacting with patients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

80%: Recruit and enroll pregnant women from 
prenatal clinics in a local study of maternal and 
fetal health.

10%: Track and instruct in DNA sample collection 
(saliva collection kits) as required.

10%: Participate in staff meetings and trainings 
as required.

Communicate effectively with participants, study 
staff, and clinic staff.

Explain study to participants and answer 
questions.

Conduct brief interview and accurately document 
answers.

Obtain informed consent and instruct participants 
to complete all study documents.  

This position will serve as information source 
and participate in the Riverside Birth Study. It 
is located in the Pediatrics Epidemiology & 
Clinical Research division.
