The Clinical Research Program (CRP) at Children's
Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School seeks
a PhD biostatistician at the level of Instructor,
Assistant or Associate Professor with
collaborative radiological research support from
the Department of Radiology and other hospital
research programs. The successful candidate will
be expected to provide statistical support for
all aspects of medical research. He or she will
collaborate on research with translational,
clinical and basic science investigators,
contribute to grant applications, participate in
teaching biostatistics to clinical faculty, and
mentor fellows and junior faculty.
The CRP currently supports several ongoing
observational studies and clinical trials from
various departments in the Hospital. Current
research areas of emphasis in the Department of
Radiology include the diagnosis and treatment of
developmental disorders, assessment of early
response to therapy in cancer trials, evaluation
of seizure foci localization in pediatric
epilepsy patients, assessment of bone fractures,
study of child abuse injuries, assessment of
imaging markers of lung disease, characterization
of fetal and early neonatal brain development,
and the development of algorithms for improved
interpretation and evaluation of radiological
images.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates with a
strong record of collaborative research,
experience with research involving radiological
images, demonstrated ability in the design and
analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials
and longitudinal studies, and excellent written
and interpersonal skills. A PhD in biostatistics
or statistics is required. Faculty appointments
will be in the Department of Radiology at the
Harvard Medical School. Rank will be commensurate
with experience.
