This position reports to the corporate Director 
of Employee Safety and Well-Being, implementing 
and documenting UnitedHealth Groups domestic and 
international health and safety programs with 
specific emphasis on infection control, and 
clinical risk. This position contributes to the 
Company΄s efforts to maintain a health workplace 
and minimize risk for occupational injury and/or 
illness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in development, implementation and 
monitoring of local and company-wide programs to 
ensure compliance with federal, state and local 
health and safety regulations (ex. Bloodborne 
Pathogens, Infection Control, Respiratory 
Protection and Personal Protective Equipment).
• Assist with traditional employee safety and 
health duties relating to training, conducting 
workplace investigations and internal audits, as 
needed.
• Develop evidence-based health and safety 
training, educational and other communication 
materials.
• Act as consultant to internal and external 
entities, including public health, insurance and 
regulatory agencies concerning infection control 
or employee health matters, as needed.
• Provide consultation on emergency 
preparedness/response as it pertains to pandemic 
planning and medical emergencies.
• Work collaboratively with others in Risk 
Management to provide clinical consult, including 
workers compensation and disability programs.
• Perform predictive analysis based on historical 
data/measurable health and safety metrics. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Occupational 
Health, Nursing or related technical discipline.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• 3+ years - Employee Health and Safety experience.
• 3+ years - Knowledge of and demonstrated 
experience interpreting regulatory standards
• 3+ years - Experience with infection control 
and occupational health programs
• Occupational Health RN is strongly desired.
• Clinical background, strongly preferred
• Masters Degree, preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidate must be well organized to handle 
numerous tasks and be able to work with a variety 
of people with varying backgrounds, education and 
job functions.
• Successful candidate needs to be high energy, 
enjoy working in a collaborative team yet also 
have the ability to work independently.
• Analytic/data analysis skills and flexibility 
to respond in a fast-paced environment.
