The Center for Animal Health and Food Safety is
seeking a University of Minnesota student to assist
in the analysis of an existing survey dataset. The
data was collected over the summer at local
farmer’s markets. The 30 item survey explores
consumer’s habits and preferences around fruits and
vegetables.
The Student Worker duties include, but are not
limited to, data quality control and cleaning, data
analysis and interpretation under the guidance of
the project PI, and project write-up. A successful
candidate must be motivated, organized, and have
solid basic data analysis and analytical skills.
An interest in the topic area and/or a statistics
program background are a plus.
HOURS / COMPENSATION:
Weekly work schedule is flexible but analysis and
write-up must be completed by May 2010. Salary is
between $10-$12/hour depending on qualifications.
No tuition or health benefits. Anticipating
approximately 150 hours of work over a 6 month
period.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Current University of Minnesota student (i.e.,
enrolled in the fall 2009 semester or in the spring
2010 with at least 6 credit hours), (2) Survey data
analysis experience, (3) Writing skills
