SENIOR PROGRAM EVALUATOR
This current vacancy is a permanent position on 
the newly formed Planning and Evaluation Team 
within the Family Health Section of the Public 
Health Department.  

The position is responsible for the evaluation of 
maternal/child health services (primarily nurse 
home visiting), meeting state and federal data 
reporting requirements, managing the data 
reporting and evaluation of contracted services, 
producing written reports and oral presentations 
in a clear and concise manner, supervising 
graduate student interns and a variety of other 
tasks related to advancing program evaluation 
interest and expertise within the Family Health 
Section. 

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, implement and maintain program 
evaluation systems for public health programs, 
including both department-staffed and purchased 
programs.
• Design and conduct research projects, such as 
surveys, experimental designs, and measures of 
client improvement. 
• Analyze and interpret evaluation and research 
study data and information for department 
management and staff, community agencies, 
purchase of service vendors and the County Board.
• Prepare research reports of findings and 
recommendations, including statistical analyses 
and computerized graphic depictions.
• Train program managers in using evaluation and 
research results to answer policy questions and 
improve program performance.
• Consult with individuals at all levels in the 
organization regarding integration of research-
generated information into decision making 
processes.
• Consult with other department staff and members 
of the community regarding research design, 
methods, interpretation and use. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral 
science or related field, plus 12 graduate 
credits in research and statistical methods. (No 
substitution for Bachelor’s Degree.) 
• Six years of program evaluation experience in a 
human service setting, public health setting, 
health care setting or equivalent.
