Anishinabe Academy is a Minneapolis Public School 
serving preschool through 8th grade students. The 
schools mission is to provide quality instruction 
to students using American Indian languages and 
values (primarily Ojibwe ands Dakota). We currently 
have 360 students and 93% are American Indian. 
Anishinabe Academy is seeking to fill a full time 
teaching position at our school.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is a dynamic and essential one to our 
schools overall mission. The primary function would 
be to share cultural teachings and stories that 
raise student awareness about alcohol, tobacco and 
other drugs. This persons role would link current 
chemical health issues facing our community with 
traditional concepts and values about living a 
healthy life.   

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate hold a teaching license and 
have background in the area of chemical health and 
wellness.
