Position: Graduate Assistant – Class Number 9521

Department: School of Public Health, Center for 
Public Health Education and Outreach

Focus area: Public Health Workforce Development

This position will support workforce development 
activities conducted under the University of 
Minnesota School of Public Health Midwest Center 
for Life-Long-Learning in Public Health 
(MCLPH). MCLPH partners with the Health 
Departments in Minnesota, North Dakota, and 
Wisconsin to support the development of core 
competencies in those working in public health.

Duties include: Assist with analysis and report 
generation from research study being conducted 
to determine transfer of content learned to the 
practice setting for online courses and modules; 
assist with marketing of computer game being 
developed for high school students; maintain 
record of grant activities to assist with 
reporting processes; and provide general support 
to staff working on the development of courses, 
special events, and courses offered by the 
Center to meet MCLPH grant requirements.

Duration: May 24, 2004 – August 29, 2004

Hours:  50% - hours arranged – flexible schedule

Location:  2221 University Avenue S.E., 
Suite 350, Minneapolis (East Bank)

Pay rate: $13.51/hour

Qualifications:  BA/BS degree, enrolled as a 
graduate student in the School of Public Health 
(do not need to be enrolled in course work over 
the summer for this opportunity); excellent oral 
and written communication skills, familiarity 
with, or knowledge of diverse communities and/or 
community organizations.   Ability to work with 
PC using Excel, MS Word, PC/Microsoft Outlook, 
fax machine and copier, ability to manage 
multiple projects.
