Position - Graduate Research Assistant

Responsibilities - The graduate student will 
have responsibilities that may include client 
contact, questionnaire design, pre-testing, 
supervision of telephone interviewers and 
coder/editors, sample management, management of 
mail surveys, data analysis, and report writing. 
This research assistant will work with MCSR 
staff on all phases of survey research.

Qualifications - U of M registered graduate 
student for the duration of the appointment as 
required by the University. Special 
consideration will be given to applicants in the 
social sciences and to those with training and 
experience in survey methodology.

Salary and Hours - The salary is $13.85 per hour 
(390 hours minimum per semester.) Depending on 
MCSR project commitment fluctuations, there is a 
possibility of additional hours. This level of 
appointment (390 hours) means that tuition will 
be waived and student health benefits will be 
provided.  Schedule to be arranged.

Duration and Appointment - The proposed period 
of appointment is from July 1, 2004 through June 
30, 2005. Applicants who will not be available 
until August 30, 2004 will be considered.  
Depending upon performance, availability of 
funding, and project needs, this position may be 
extended.
