GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT POSITION
Fall, Spring, and Summer Semesters, 2004-05
Position: Teaching Assistant – 2 positions @ 25%
time each
Course: PH 5020 Fundamentals of Social and
Behavioral Science
Duties: Duties include assisting instructors in
the preparation of course materials for the in-
classroom version in Fall 2004, and an on-line
electronic version scheduled for Spring and
Summer 2005. For the in-class version Fall
2004, TA’s must be present for each class
session and will be expected to lead class
exercises, assist in grading, and coordinate
other learning activities under direction of the
instructors and senior TA for the course.
Duration: August 15, 2004 through August 20, 2005
Hours: 25% (Hours to be arranged)
Location: 1300 South Second St., Ste 300 (WBOB)
Pay Rate: Current hourly pay rates for teaching
assistants in the School of Public Health are:
$13.85 for those with bachelor’s degrees
$18.46 for those with master’s degrees
$23.07 for those with doctoral degrees
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be
graduate students working on a Masters degree or
Ph.D. in the School of Public Health or related
field and have a background in the social or
behavioral sciences. It is desirable but not
essential that at least one of the two
candidates has previously taken the course. Web-
based skills are preferred; appointees will be
required to complete TA training in web skills,
otherwise.

current registration as a graduate student at
the University of Minnesota. Failure to
register by the end of the second week of
classes (fall semester) will result in
termination from the teaching assistantship.
