The Mansky Lab
| Welcome to the Mansky Lab! Our laboratory studies the cell and molecular biology of human retroviruses: human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1, the cause of AIDS), human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1, the cause of an adult T-cell leukemia), and xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus (XMRV, a newly discovered human retrovirus associated with prostate cancer and chronic fatigue). Our research has a particular focus on human retrovirus genetic variation, evolution and population genetics as well as virus assembly. We seek to apply these concepts towards the identification of novel drug targets for drug discovery. | Mansky Lab Retreat, January, 2010: (Seated left to right) Matthew Bess, Iwen Grigsby, Wil Greggs, Christine Clouser, Colleen (Lockman) Holtz, Lauren Beach, Michael Dapp, Casey Dorr, Jose Cotto, Jonathan Rawson, Keir Fogarty (Not shown: Louis Mansky, Holly Sadler) | | | Current Lab Members | Rebecca Asp Lauren Beach Matthew Bess Jose Cotto Christine Clouser Michael Dapp Casey Dorr Keir Fogarty Wil Greggs Iwen Grigsby | Colleen (Lockman) Holtz Louis Mansky Jonathan Rawson Holly Sadler Azah Tabah Max von Hohenberg | Mansky Lab in the News #1 Mansky Lab in the News #2 Mansky Lab in the News #3 Mansky Lab in the News #4 Mansky Lab in the News #5 |
