Human Trafficking and Slavery:
Tools for an Effective Response

April 7th, 2005
8:30 -5:00
Training was held at the
University of Minnesota
Humphrey Institute
301-19th Avenue South, Minneapolis

Slavery still exists in the 21st Century and in the U.S.  Victims of human trafficking have been identified here in Minnesota.  Human trafficking victims are smuggled and subjected to forced prostitution, domestic servitude and child labor, among other human rights abuses.

This training provided an overview of U.S. anti-trafficking laws and regulations, referrals to social and medical services and case practices for law enforcement and service agencies.

In response to the overwhelming demand for this training, we will be adding additional training dates this summer.  Please email wmhealth@umn.edu if you would like to be notified of future trainings.  Thank you for your commitment to this important issue.
