Clostridium difficile is one of the most dangerous pathogens on earth. It’s unpredictable and hard to treat.

Some people with the infection may never know it. Others require hospitalization.

But U of M doctors have an impressive weapon in the fight against the most severe cases of clostridium difficile. It’s called a fecal transplant, and it can sometimes mean the difference between life and death for some patients.
